Mon, July 4, 2005 - 4:30 PMThat would be the policy of rhetoric. Saying we will be and are doing so much good and then delivering zip.

Re: US FOREIGN POLICY IS A FUNCTION OF ABILITY TO DELIVER.BOMBS.
Tue, July 5, 2005 - 4:01 PMInteresting hypothetical.
We'd still be getting into some hot water in the middle east because of Israel. Though probably a lot less then you'd think, as people wouldn't be quite as annoyed at us for tacitly supporting a lot of cruel dictatorships in places like Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Our general status as being one of the largest consumers of natural resources on the planet would be a bit de emphasized as well which would have huge repercussions outside of the Middle East too.
As it is, most of our oil comes from the Americas anyway, with relatively little coming from the Middle East. That mostly goes to Asia and Europe. We just are entangled dangerously in the oil distribution game.
